Ferndale, one of our small, quaint towns, is about twenty minutes from Pamplin Grove.  You just go over the river (and you'll cross quite a picturesque bridge) and drive a few miles until you reach the Victorian Village of Ferndale.  The town has maintained the buildings and feel of a turn of the century town with its unique architecture of the early 1900's.  There is much to see around the town and many of the businesses contain galleries run by local artists.  If you continue out of town to the west you'll go a few miles through the countryside and end up at the......ocean!  You can't go any farther west unless you're using a surfboard.  The Centerville Beach is a wide stretch surrounded by rolling hills and the coastal mountains.   A bit of local history, some unique shops to browse away in, and a jaunt to the beach--all in all, a day trip well worth taking. :applause:
